We inform you of the death of Mrs. Sueli de Melo Bueno that took place on June 17th . Born in the city of Rialma in the State of Goiás, she joined as Secretary of the Journal of the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine (RSBMT) in 1987 through an assignment made by Prof. Edison Reis Lopes, Head of the Surgical Pathology Service at the Faculty of Medicine of Triângulo Mineiro (FMTM) to the then Editor-in-Chief of RSBMT Prof. Aluízio Prata who, recently arrived from Brasília/DF, had just completed the installation of the RSBMT in one of the rooms provided by the Institution today called Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM).

Graduated in Natural History: Full Degree, by Faculdades Integradas Santo Tomás de Aquino, Uberaba, MG, in 1976; Pedagogy: Full Degree, from the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Ituverava, SP in 1982 and Philosophy, Sciences and Letters from the Faculty José Olympio, Batatais, SP, in 1983. Studied Post-Graduation Latu sensu, in the area of ​​Education , in specialization level, called Teaching Methodology and Didactics, by the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters José Olympio, Batatais, SP, in 1986.

He also served as Histological Technician Assistant in Pathological Anatomy at the Escola Paulista de Medicina of the Federal University of São Paulo, from 1978 to 1980.

With the possession of Prof. Dalmo Correia as the new Editor-in-Chief of RSBMT in 2012, replacing the then Editor Prof. Aluízio Prata died in 2011, she continued as RSBMT Secretary until 2018 when, unfortunately, she had to leave her activities to treat a serious clinical illness.

In the year 2019, Prof. Dalmo Correia, the Board of the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine and the entire RSBMT team, paid him a beautiful tribute for the services provided as a secretary for 31 years fully dedicated, exercising with devoted dedication, ethics, extreme technical proficiency and high critical sense, conferring you thank you card.

Mrs. Sueli de Melo Bueno was married to Ronaldo Bueno and had no children. We express here our sincere thanks for the relevant services provided to RSBMT and our condolences to her husband and all family members.
