Durante a 66ª. Reunião Anual da Sociedade Brasileira para o Progresso da Ciência (SBPC), que está sendo realizada em Rio Branco, no Acre, o presidente da Sociedade Brasileira de Medicina Tropical (SBMT), Dr. Mitermayer Galvão dos Reis, abordou o tema Doenças Negligenciadas ou Populações Negligenciadas.

During the 66th Annual Meeting of the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine for Science Progress (BSSP), that is being held in Rio Branco, Acre, Dr. Mitermayer Galvao dos Reis debated about Neglected Diseases or Neglected Populations.
Dr. Reis exampled with the leptospirosis situation and the his Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz/BA) groups researches, showing the severity of the neglect of exposed populations that live without sanitation in Salvadors slums, situation aggravated due to the lack of knowledge and technological development for the diseases diagnostic and treatment.
