Prêmio Jornalista Tropical: novo regulamento prevê produção dos trabalhos desde 2013Tropical Journalist Prize: new regulation foresees work production since 2013

Com o intuito de atender solicitações de veículos e jornalistas, a Comissão Julgadora da Sociedade Brasileira de Medicina Tropical (SBMT) para o Prêmio Jornalista Tropical decide modificar o regulamento e estender o prazo de produção dos trabalhos. A decisão deve ampliar consideravelmente o leque de concorrentes, beneficiando as produções jornalísticas que tenham discutido este tema tão importante, que é a prevenção e o controle das doenças tropicais.

A premiação contemplará duas categorias: jornalista e veículo. Podem se inscrever ou indicar matérias produzidas entre 1º de janeiro de 2013 e 15 de maio de 2014. Os interessados devem enviar material veiculado em jornais e revistas ou vídeos e matérias jornalísticas apresentadas na televisão, até o dia 30 de maio, para o endereço eletrônico: ascomsbmt@gmail.com, indicando o assunto: Prêmio Jornalista Tropical. No e-mail, também deve constar telefone para contato.

Além do prêmio em dinheiro, os ganhadores serão convidados para participar do 50º Congresso da SBMT, que este ano será realizado no Rio Branco, no Acre, de 26 a 30 de agosto, sem custo, para receberem o título de Jornalista Tropical – reportagem e veículo.

O Prêmio:
Com o objetivo de reconhecer o trabalho de quem contribui levando informações relevantes sobre temas relacionados à Medicina Tropical, a SBMT criou o Prêmio Jornalista Tropical. A proposta é valorizar profissionais da área de comunicação que colaboram para disseminar informações e conhecimentos à população, ajudando na prevenção e no controle de doenças, como: dengue, malária, leptospirose, Aids, hepatites, esquistossomose, entre outras.Willing to meet the expectancies from the media and journalists, the Judging Commission of the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine (BSTM_ for the Tropical Journalist Prize decided to change the regulation and extend the deadline for work production. The decision should increase considerably the array of candidates, beneficiating journalistic productions that have discussed this so important theme, which is tropical diseases prevention and control.

The awarding will take in count two categories: journalist and media vehicle. Sub ions and article suggestions produced between January 1 2013 and May 15 2014 are accepted. Those who are interested must forward the material featured in newspapers or magazines or videos and journalistic productions featured on television, until May 30, to the e-mailascomsbmt@gmail.com, with the subject: Tropical Journalist Award. The e-mail should also contain a personal phone number for contact.

Besides the money prize, the winners are invited to participate in the 50^th Congress of the BSTM, that this year will be held in Rio Branco, Acre, from August 26 to 30^th, at no cost, in order to personally receive the Tropical Journalist title – article and media vehicle.

The Award:

With the purpose of acknowledging the work of those who contributed bringing relevant information about Tropical Medicine related themes, the BSTM created the Tropical Journalist Award.
